CPD and SELF IMPROVEMENT
Explore Our Video Library on Health and Prevention
Discover our extensive video library dedicated to health prevention and learn effective strategies to market yourself and your skills.
When it comes to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), there are distinct requirements for verified and non-verified courses. While some training is essential to keep our patients safe—echoing Hippocrates' principle to “do no harm”—why not make learning more meaningful and enjoyable?
Over the years, I have found that small peer review groups provide one of the best forms of learning while also supporting our mental health. With today’s technology, we can easily share and modify our own presentations. A video is available to guide you through the setup process.
While we may not be able to “move fast and break things,” we can apply Agile principles to iteratively enhance our resources for the benefit of our patients and ourselves.
Our platform features a free video section as well as online verifiable courses to elevate your skillset. You’ll have the opportunity to showcase your new abilities, from delivering oral hygiene instruction through teledentistry to exploring advancements in 3D printing and hybrid services for general health screening. Together, we can become the health advocates our society needs.

COLLABORATION
Elevating Standards in Dental Care
This website aims to support dental professionals in enhancing care standards in a realistic and achievable way. Our video resources can be scored on a scale from Bronze to Gold.
Gold Level: Represents a benchmark where time and material constraints are not limiting factors.
- Bronze Level: Indicates a minimum requirement for a quality core service that is affordable for the general public, funded either by government initiatives or individual contributions.
Recognizing that stress hinders performance, it's essential to manage patient expectations in alignment with the principles of Hippocrates. We must ensure that patient care is overseen by our profession rather than being unduly influenced by career expert witnesses and legal entities.
To achieve this, we need a governing body that prioritizes public service and garners the trust of dental professionals. The General Dental Council (GDC) currently falls short in this area. It is time to seek an alternative that effectively supports both our profession and the communities we serve. Together, we can create a more accountable and responsive dental care environment.

SAVE A LIFE SHARE TEETH4LIFE
In 2018, I developed the Teeth4Life app to enhance engagement with my patients and improve their oral health awareness. This app serves as a comprehensive tool for both patients and dental professionals, offering a variety of features designed to support oral health management.
Key Features:
Personalised Communication: Patients receive tailored emails that include their Basic Periodontal Examination (BPE) figures and personalised advice on their oral health needs and desired treatments.
Risk Assessment: The app allows users to enter their risk factors, featuring a traffic light system that indicates the risks of early tooth loss and mouth cancer.
Self-Assessment Tools: Users have access to self-checking videos and a reminder section to encourage regular oral health practices.
Resource Library: The app includes a library of video resources that provide health advice and information on available treatment services.
Customisation: Any member of the dental team can customise the app, while users can personalise their experience based on their unique needs.
Leveraging my experience with Health innovation networks, and product design with feedback from the public and the profession I am eager to develop a comprehensive Dental Health Service App that enhances the point of contact for users, fostering better engagement and improved oral health outcomes.

OUR NEW DHS APP
Promoting Health Prevention
The vision I had for the Teeth4Life App was on Promoting Public Prevention in Oral Health. Over time, we've realised that we can drop the word "Oral" and instead deliver Health Prevention as a group of Health Advocates an integrated health service needs., Our patients trust us as individuals providing essential health support, and face to face word of mouth advice from someone we trust is the best marketing in any field.
The DentalHealthService website is dedicated to promoting dental health for everyone. I believe that the government-funded NHS dentistry often adopts a divide-and-rule mentality when it comes to providing services. By organizing through an alternative body, such as the College of General Dentistry, we can enhance our collective well-being with a unified voice that represents a larger group of individual dentists, rather than catering to a smaller group of dental corporates. The British Dental Association (BDA) and Local Dental Committees (LDC) have had limited success with their historical negotiations; it's time for a fresh approach.
Join Us in Creating the DHS App
If you're interested in helping to create a DHS App, whether as an individual or as part of a practice, please reach out. With a relatively small inital investment, followed by a fixed monthly subscription for the life of a DHS App, we can collectively improve our well-being.

Template for Fds
I was as a dental trainer for 20 years, and noticed an increasing emphasis on the potential pitfalls of dental practice, particularly due to the rising concerns around dental litigation. Companies like Dental Law Partnership, along with certain dental insurance providers, have contributed to this heightened focus. This isn't particularly helpful, or stimulating.
As their year progressed, there was the option for input from some different aspects go general dentistry and I had a day with FDs at the practice, which was a good day release I hope. Due to loss of NHS funding in 2006, I had to Pivot. Back in 2013, I was working with the Cerec Bluecam to create milled 3M crowns with hybrid blocks as a single-visit NHS option, among other treatment innovations.
The same framework outlined below for improving video content on our prevention page can also be applied by any peer review group, including therapists, hygienists, and oral health educators. Together, we can enhance our educational resources and promote preventative care effectively.
" Please support the site by sourcing videos yourself.
Compare it with current videos, and ask your peers for their opinion."
View the section on procedures, which has proven to be quite contentious. Unfortunately, during the development of this website amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to gather substantial input from many dental schools.
It would be incredibly beneficial for the FDI and their trainers to continue curating this section, ensuring we provide up-to-date and comprehensive information for dental professionals. Your insights and contributions are always welcome to improve and enhance our resources.
